RAPTURE

The French sensation DatA has done it again. For the third time in a row he has released a great EP in his "Rapture". This guy is a real genius and has an ability to make music like no other. Here on his latest release he’s got Sebastien Grainger (former singer in "Death From Above 1979") to do the vocals. DatA is one of the best artists of the French Club scene, make sure check out his new material!

FESTIVALS AND MUSIC ON MY MIND

Sorry the lack of posts lately. Ive been busy attending Hovefestivalen and Oslo Live Festival here in Norway and enjoying great music.

This entry will never end if I’m suppose to tell you about all my latest concert experiences. Instead I’ll share with you a couple of songs from my favorite concerts.

Familjen was one of the best concerts at Hove this year in my opinion. Dizzie Rascal had to cancel their concert at Oslo Live, instead Adam Tensta stepped in. Not a bad replacement.

Familjen feat Adam Tensta - Huvudet i sanden

(electronica, 2008)

I was working at the bar when Goldfrapp performed at Hove. I did get to hear A&E live though, and it sounded epic. Here’s one of the best remixes. And a bonus one from Hercules & Love Affair because they put on a great show at Hove.

Goldfrapp - A&E (Gui Boratto Remix)
(electronica, 2008 )

(electronica, 2008)

Surkin was too cute on the mix table and made my first night at Hove. You’ve probably already heard ’Next Of Kin’ and ’White Knight’. If you like them, then you’ll definately like the remix of the first and the sequel of the latter.

Surkin - Next of Kin (Todd Edwards Re-Kindled Mix)

(electronica, 2008)

Surkin - White Knight Two
(electronica/dance, 2008)

Justice pulled an audience of almost 10 000 people at the first day of Oslo Live. MSTRKRFT played a great set at Hove. Steve Aoki never came to Norway as planned, but here’s the whole package.

Steve Aoki - D.A.N.C.E (MSTRKRFT Remix With Justice)
(electronica, 2008)

Sebastien Tellier is probably the coolest frenchie in the whole wide world. His show at Oslo Live was hilarous. He mostly performed the songs about his sexuality and his "fat and ugly mother", as he nicely put it. I personally prefer this remix of the Eurovision hit.

Sebastien Tellier - Divine (Danger Remix)
(electronica, 2008)

The Norwegian Datarock boys ended my festival summer for now. Datarock is highly recommended live. I missed Skatebård during Hove and a club night during Oslo Live. Too bad, because he’s good italo-disco shit.

Datarock - Fa Fa Fa (Skatebård Remix)
(electronica, 2007)

Datarock - Fa Fa Fa (Miami Horror Remix)
(electronica, 2008)

Happy summer!

UNA CERVEZA, POR FAVOR?

half of househouse is in barcelona now enjoying great electronic music on the clubs, and will do during the coming month, hence the lack of updates.

anyway, barcelona is great and yesterday we went to a great restaurant called 'carpe diem' - an extremely loungy athomsphere with a great dj along with great food and service.

well, as this blog unfortunately is neither about food nor wine i just wanted to say that the last song of the evening the french dj played was 'jupiter calling' by thomas schwartz. that italian progressive house producer is amazing. amazing! this is a chill-out progressive tune and i just want to give it to all of whom missed it:

THE LONGEST ROAD

this song has been around quite a lot lately. from morgan page; an electronica/house producer from california and lissie on vocals magic happend. most famous is probably the remix by deadmau5 which is a mellow and great progressive tune. my friend, martin nowakowski, also did a rhumba-style remix on it, and now recently a mashup between the original song and adam k's twilight was brought into daylight.

i present to you all of them great songs:
